Audio → Phrases

The following Spanish phrases come with their English translations and phonetic transcription (IPA), to help you get the pronunciation of each word right.

The main objective here is to listen to the audio of the sentences and get used to the pronunciation. Don't worry about memorizing everything now; the focus is just listening and becoming familiar with the sounds.

Consult the IPA transcription as you listen to adjust your pronunciation. The exercises on the following pages will help you consolidate what you have learned.

Follow the written dialogue in Spanish while the audio plays.

Click on the Audio button to open the IPA transcription and the English translation of the Spanish phrase.

Refer to the IPA transcription to become familiar with the correct pronunciation of each word in the sentence.

Once you are familiar with the dialogue (by listening to the audio multiple times while following the written dialogue), proceed to the first flashcard exercise to start memorizing the sentences.

There is no need to memorize the phrases at this time. Just focus on becoming familiar with them.

It's super important to memorize these phrases because they'll serve as the foundation for your entire Spanish learning journey.

You might be thinking, "Am I just going to memorize phrases in this course?" Don't worry! This is just the beginning. Once you've mastered this initial vocabulary, we'll start talking about grammar rules in the next lessons. Understanding grammar will help you express yourself better and more confidently in Spanish.

Think of it like building a house. First, we lay a solid foundation by memorizing phrases and expanding your vocabulary. Then, we start building the walls by introducing grammar rules. This approach helps you develop your skills in an organized and effective way.
