Phrase 2 (Informal):

¿Te gustaría ir a Cancún en junio?

Would you like to go to Cancun  in June? 

Phrase 2 (Formal):

¿Le gustaría ir a Cancún en junio?

Would you like to go to Cancun  in June? 

In Spanish, it's not necessary to use the definite article "el" (the) before city names.

Examples:

  • Incorrect = Me gustaría ir a  el  Cancún el lunes.
  • Correct = Me gustaría ir a Cancún el lunes.

In Spanish, the months of the year always start with a lowercase letter.

The names of cities in the United States (or any other English speaking country) are generally not translated and their pronunciation does not change.

Keep in mind that this is not an absolute rule. So it's best to consult an English-Spanish dictionary to make sure.

Here are some examples to this exception:

  • New York City = Nueva York.
  • London = Londres.
