Lesson 6: ¿Le Gustaría?

PART 1

PART 2

Frase 1 (Formal):

¿Le gustaría comprar la computadora el lunes?

Would you like to use the computer on Monday?

Frase 1 (Informal):

¿Te gustaría comprar la computadora el lunes?

Would you like to use the computer on Monday?

Frase 2 (Formal):

¿Le gustaría ir al parque el sábado?

Would you like to go to the park on Saturday?

Frase 2 (Informal):

¿Te gustaría ir al parque el sábado?

Would you like to go to the park on Saturday?

In Spanish, to express that something is happening on a certain day of the week, the word " el " must appear before the name of the day. Examples:

.. el lunes.
.. el jueves.
.. el sábado.

In phrase 2, the word "al" is a contraction of "a el".

This only happens when the masculine definite article "el" (the) is preceded by the word "a" (to).
This does not happen with the feminine definite article "la".

Examples:

Incorrect: Me gustaría ir a el banco.
Correct: Me gustaría ir al banco.

In Spanish, the days of the weeks are not capitalized.
